Trash to cash

At Grey High we are doing trash to cash in metal work. I am making a sausage cooker out of soda cans, other people are making mini BBQ'S,motorbikes and cars. Here is a photo of one me and will completed we are going to make lots of these.

Keeping ourselfs safe

This term we have had a police officer come into our classroom to  teach us how to keep our self safe. Our class has learnt the  different types of abuse and neglect. We also watched a video, there was a teenager getting bullied at school. He received texts like loser and bad stuff like that. We had questions to work it out in our group.

Algebra

This week we got a work book to work on through out the week.

Italian Languge

This week our class have been doing languages. We have been learning Italian basic words like  Hello, Goodbye, Good Morning. That's the basics we have been doing. I hope you can learn some Italian basics as well:)

Instructions On My Favourite Sandwich

This week we have been doing instructions on your favourite sandwich. Mine was Chicken, Mayo, lettuce, bread that is my favourite sandwich. We had to explain the instructions like spread the mayo with a butter knife.   

Wearable Arts

This term we are starting  Wearable Arts. We have to make a sketch of what we are making. Our group is doing the barber. 
It is based on West coast in the future. wearable Arts is a something you make and you wear it  We are using chicken wire ,Cardboard ,Cushion stuffing ,glue ,tape.  Wearable Arts will be in Week 10.
 

Maths

This week for Maths our group had to do tessellation is where a shape can be fitted with no gaps. Miss Power gave us in a group of two. We had to see how the cut out square would make a square with no gaps it took us lots of tries to make a shape.

This week I have been doing  Addition and subtraction up to 7 digits & Addition up to 7 digits. I did this really easily because addition is really easily. This was a couple of tasks on maths-buddy.

END OF THE TERM 2 2019

End of term 2 
 The things I enjoyed most this term was maths because I learnt something new about Stem and leaf graphs.  I learnt that the stem had to start with a zero .This was what i enjoyed most.
Yesterday we had team time is where if  you complete all your work  then you get free time. That was my favourite and a surprise! Next term I am looking forward to PrEp.:)

This week our class have been doing maths about bus and train timetables and time. Miss Power gave us questions to do in our Maths book. We had to do a worksheet about time today it had 24 hour time, another one had words we had to write it in numbers.

Camp 2019

On 20-22 May 2019 This week we went on camp to Hanmer Springs. We did Mountain biking, Orienteering, Sculpture walks, cemetery study and the best hot pools. We were there for 3 days 2 nights. We also went to the Conical Hill walk, we walked up in a zig zag track. It was a quite step track up a hill it led to a very cool view. After the walk we went to the lolly shop. I brought a lolly pop and tic tac gum and then we went back to Hanmer Forest Camp. The last thing we did was sculpture walks we saw some man made objects like animals climbing a tree and a bird just sitting on a log. At last we came back to Greymouth.    

Maths

This week for maths we were working on area and perimeter. On maths-buddy I have been working on area of Squares and Rectangles, I scored 10/10 In 5 minutes. For Area we have to multiply the with by the length.

Lottery

If you won the lottery what would you spend it on and why?


If I won the Lottery I would buy heaps of stuff but it depends on how much money you win. If I won a lot I would probably buy my dream house, dream car and dream motorbikes .If I have any left over
money I would just keep it.

Welcome back!!!

Welcome back to term 2. This term I am looking forward to Hammer Springs camp.
We get to do mountain biking, orienteering, tree climbing and Hot pools in week 4.
This term is going to be fun.

This term we have a lot of things on like Cross country and Basketball.

Visiting author: Thelma eakin

Yesterday in T1 and T2 we had an author Thelma Eakin come in for our book Mines afire. She answered our questions, she brought in an old miners lamp and a replica statue of the mine.  The statue was quite heavy and the lamp had a rope in side it for light.

Brunner Mine

On Monday for topic we went to the Brunner Mine Site. We explored the place a little bit, then we had to dress up we did activities to see what it was like back then.We also did a play  like when the mine
exploded and we couldn't speak we had to drag other people in our class out of the mine.

This week I did my art .  We had to chose a shape to cut out  witch was hard to do and then we had to glue it on a black paper.  On Friday i got a certificate on art .  HERE IS THE FINISHED ART!!!!   

Poem

  Yesterday I made a yellow colour poem. We had to make then for our writing. The class had to share them, I was happy with my work .

Music

     This week we have been looking at music notes. We have learnt some notes including a crotchet and a semibreve. Here is my work.

This week for science we did a experiment about density. We had four different colours we had to put the colours in a empty glass with a straw and spoon. We mixed water, sugar and food colouring At the end you can see different layers caused with density of the liquid.

This term for technology I am in a cooking class. Last week we made fruit chocolate coated kebabs
This is how we made them. 1. We got some fruits. 2. Cut up the fruits. 3. Slide the fruits on the stick. 4. Chocolate coat it. 5. EAT IT YUM YUM. Next week we are going to make pasta.

Maths

This week for maths I have been doing shapes like triangles.  I learnt about equilateral, scalene, isosceles, right angled triangles, quadrilateral, rhombus and trapezium. In class we are working on maths maintenance where the teacher gives us maths questions and we have to answer them.
